Unlike most other string trimmer manufacturers, Black & Decker doesn't offer a gasoline-powered model, and its lightweight corded and cordless models are intended primarily for home use. When the string runs out, you have two options: You can replace the entire trimmer head with a pre-strung one or you can re-string the empty spool yourself. If you choose to re-string the spool, you'll need 0.065-inch trimmer line -- heavier line won't advance properly, and the machine could suffer damage if you use it.
- Unplug the trimmer or remove the battery. Sit on a bench, turn the trimmer over and hold the shaft with your legs to stabilize it.
- Remove the cap from the trimmer head by depressing the two tabs on the sides with your fingers and lifting it off. Lift out the spool and pull off all the old string.
- Prepare a length of 0.065-inch monofilament string that is 20 feet long, using a tape measure to measure its length and a pair of scissors to cut it from a roll.
- Insert one end of the string in one of the two holes in the hub of the spool and wind the string in the direction of the arrow imprinted on the top of the spool.Samsung galaxy s4 phone manual. Based on the leaked, Samsung pinned processor Snapdragon 835 with 4 GB of RAM into the tablet.
- Stop winding when you have about 6 inches of string left on the end. Hook the string into one of the two notches on the rim of the spool.
- Replace the spool into the trimmer head, feeding the end of the string through the hole in the side of the head as you do. Set the spool on the pinion and rotate it until it seats properly.
- Set the cap back on top of the head and push down to lock it in place.

Things You Will Need
Tip
If you need extra cutting power for tough weeds, use 0.065-inch braided string instead of smooth string.
Warning
You can move the guard to make replacing the string easier, but if you do, make sure it's back in its proper position before you use the trimmer.
